(Kelowna, B.C.) British Columbia’s largest marketer of apples, B.C. Tree Fruits, has launched a refreshed brand identity for its packaging and marketing materials, reflecting the brand’s core values of quality and taste. New packaging will be rolled out in supermarket produce aisles from mid-November, with a redesigned www.bctree.com website launching November 9.

BC Tree Fruits has picked BRANDFX of North Vancouver to update its company logo, packaging, website, point-of-purchase materials and advertising. The account review included Think Marketing of Kelowna and three other Vancouver agencies: Hyphen Communications, Cowie and Fox and i2i Advertising and Marketing.

BC Tree Fruits was founded in Kelowna as a central marketing agency for the region’s apples, cherries, peaches and other summer fruit. Tim Kelly, creative director at BRANDFX, said the company markets to consumers, the retail trade and about 800 growers.

Recording Artist Andrew Allen on a Roll with Kal Tire

What do Kal Tire and BC singer songwriter Andrew Allen have in common? Well for one thing they both go through a heck of a lot of tires, Kal Tire being Canada’s largest independent tire retailer and Andrew touring across the country logging over 280,000 km on his tour van. Not to mention the fact that they are both born and raised in Vernon, BC.

BRANDFX, Kal Tire’s North Vancouver–based creative agency of record introduced the local musician Andrew Allen to Kal Tire during the development stages of their spring 2010 Television and Radio campaign.

Kal Tire Rolls with the Roadies

Kal Tire is targeting “dependent roadies” with a campaign that features the song “Roll with Me” by Canadian Andrew Allen, written exclusively for the tire retailer. Allen gained some notoriety for his performance of “Amazing” at the closing ceremonies of the Paralympic Winter Games in March. 

“Dependent Roadies,” are busy people who don't have the time or inclination to maintain their cars themselves, and don't mind paying for good service,” explained Tim Kelly, partner at BRANDFX Advertising, Design and Interactive, Kal Tire's agency of record since 2005.
